“How Tiger Woods is Transforming the US PGA with a Bold New Look”

Tiger Woods is rocking a retro look at this week’s US PGA Championship.

Tiger Woods is rocking a GOATee at this week’s US PGA Championship, a look he hasn’t treated golf fans to since 2010.

Woods, 48, has made a bold statement in his quest for his 16th major championship, surprising fans with a new-look goatee, a departure from his usual clean-shaven face.

The 15-time major champions arrived at Valhalla, the host venue for the second major of the year, on Sunday, and photographers took no time at all papping his new look while he was hitting some balls on the range.

Inevitably, the photos quickly found their way onto Twitter, with fans instantly clocking his carefully sculpted facial hair.

Whether or not the goatee will stick around for the weekend is yet to be seen, but one thing is for sure: Woods will be laser-focused on attempting to win his fifth PGA Championship.

Valhalla is a course Woods has tasted success on before, having secured his second PGA Championship at the venue in 2000.

That year, he defeated Bob May in a three-hole playoff.

Some 24 years on, Woods’ desire to win has not weaned; however, physically, he is no longer the man he once was.

Despite having made history at The Masters earlier this year by making his 24 consecutive cuts, he struggled over the weekend en route to carding his highest-ever score in a major championship as a professional golfer.

Understandably, Woods is still feeling the physical toll as a result of undergoing ankle surgery last season following his horror car crash in February 2022.

The fan favourite also has the tough task of competing with a field stacked full of in from players.

World number one Scottie Scheffler will tee it up following the birth of his first child. The American is looking to win his second major of the year and his fifth win in six starts.

Hot on Scheffler’s heels, Rory McIlroy is also experiencing a good run of form, having won back-to-back titles on the premier North American circuit at the Wells Fargo Championship and Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Brooks Koepka will undoubtedly also be in contention, having won the PGA Championship last year and hitting form at just the right time with a win at LIV Golf Singapore two weeks ago.
