Stockport Village Nᴜʀsᴇʀʏ, Staff at a ʀᴇᴄᴏʀᴅ-ʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ Nᴜʀsᴇʀʏ are sᴛᴜɴɴᴇᴅ after nine sets of twins all enrolled at the same time. With eight ɴᴏɴ-ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ and ᴏɴᴇ ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ set on their books. Workers at Stockport Village Nᴜʀsᴇʀʏ, now home to an incredible eight sets of ɴᴏɴ-ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ and one pair of ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ twins, believe their preschool in Stockport, Greater Manchester, is the ᴏɴʟʏ ᴏɴᴇ in the ⓊⓀ to have ever looked after this many at once. They were sᴛᴜɴɴᴇᴅ when they initially realised three pairs would be joining. But they got a ɢʀᴇᴀᴛᴇʀ sʜᴏᴄᴋ when six more sets turned up.
Lyndsey Cross, 36 said:” We’ve always had a lot of twins but when we had three sets we were quite sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ so to have nine is something else. We must be the ᴏɴʟʏ Nᴜʀsᴇʀʏ in the ⓊⓀ to have this many – we’ve ɴᴇᴠᴇʀhad this many at once before. The twins’ ages range from five months to four years old – with Lottie and Gracie Catterall being the youngest of the lot.The others are Tobias and Arlo McHugh, two, Rey and Joanie Layton, four, Chloe and Emily Worrall, three, Archie and Ben Lowther, four, Elizabeth and Olivia Handby, one, Penelope and Grace McMahon, one, Sadie and Lottie Dean, two, and Sia and Ava Vivaldi, two.”
Each set of twins has been assigned to a different member of staff, but luckily as they ᴀʀᴇɴ’ᴛ ᴀʟʟ ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ there’s no need for name tags although the parents do love dressing their youngsters up in matching outfits. Lyndsey said :” It can be ᴄᴏɴFᴜsɪɴɢ for staff but thankfully they ᴀʀᴇɴ’ᴛ ᴀʟʟ ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ so we can tell the difference and one set belong to a member of staff. That many twin parents choose them thanks to their sɪʙʟɪɴɢ ᴅɪsᴄᴏᴜɴᴛ, but previously their ʜɪɢʜᴇsᴛ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ of sets at once was six. The other parents ᴄᴀɴ’ᴛ believe it, they always mention it in the mornings.”
Steph Doxsey, who is mum to Lottie and Gracie and also works at the Nᴜʀsᴇʀʏ, says she ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ believe it when the number of twins ᴋᴇᴘᴛ ʀɪsɪɴɢ. He said :”It’s ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ. I’ve ɴᴇᴠᴇʀheard of so many twins at a Nᴜʀsᴇʀʏ. Sometimes, because there are so many of them, if they don’t come in matching outfits I don’t like it. When they’re all together, they just sit looking around at each other like they’re thinking ‘oh, you’ve got a twin too’.”
