A sɪɴɢʟᴇ mum has achieved her dream family ahead of her 50th birthday after having her second baby ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ ᴀɢᴇᴅ 49. Laura, from Toronto, Canada, says that she was determined to complete her family ahead of her 50th birthday even if that meant going it ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ and becoming a sᴏʟᴏ ᴘᴀʀᴇɴᴛ. She gave birth to her son Jack, in May. The 49-year-old already has two daughters, Avery, 15, from her previous marriage, and Alexandra, three who was the first baby she had alone.
She said: “After my ᴍᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇ ʙʀᴏᴋᴇ ᴅᴏᴡɴ in my late thirties, I ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ move past the fact that I wanted more kids. I tried dating for years and I just ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ Fᴏᴜɴᴅ the person that I wanted to settle down with. So when I was in my forties I decided I wasn’t going to waste anymore time and I started the process of becoming a sᴏʟᴏ ᴍᴜᴍ. I was desperate for my eldest daughter to at least have one sibling. But after I had my first baby, Alexandra, there was sᴛɪʟʟ ᴏɴᴇ ᴇᴍʙʀʏᴏ ʟᴇFᴛ in the Fʀᴇᴇᴢᴇʀ and the idea of having another was sᴛᴜᴄᴋ ɪɴ ᴍʏ ʙʀᴀɪɴ. I was 48 and I just knew I needed to complete my family. There was such a ʙɪɢ ᴀɢᴇ ɢᴀᴘ ʙᴇᴛᴡᴇᴇɴ Avery and Alexandra I wanted another baby for Alexandra to grow up and play with. So I started the process again and got my dream family at the ᴀɢᴇ of 49, ahead of my 50th birthday.”
Laura had mixed feelings about becoming a sɪɴɢʟᴇ mum and building her family, but ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ want to let her ᴀɢᴇ get in the ᴡᴀʏ of having more children and ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ be more delighted with her babies. She was also ɴᴇʀᴠᴏᴜsbecause her was sᴛᴇᴘᴘɪɴɢ ᴏᴜᴛsɪᴅᴇ ᴏF ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴏx ɪɴ ᴏʀᴅᴇʀ to have dream family. Laura’s lifestyle is healthy, and she’s a very active person, which helps her ᴋᴇᴇᴘ up with her brood. She says she’s extremely happy with her decision, and is glad she got a chance to improve her career and have plenty of fun before starting a family. She said :” I ᴅᴏɴ’ᴛ think you should let ᴀɢᴇ sᴛᴏᴘ ʏᴏᴜ. I think the babies ᴋᴇᴇᴘ me ʏᴏᴜɴɢ. Although I am already sᴀᴠɪɴɢ for ᴘʟᴀsᴛɪᴄ sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ so that I can look my very best as an ᴏʟᴅᴇʀ ᴍᴜᴍ. I ᴅᴏɴ’ᴛ want to ʟᴏᴏᴋ ʟɪᴋᴇ my children’s ɢʀᴀɴᴅᴍᴏᴛʜᴇʀ. I’m quite surprised I haven’t already had this comment.”
She added :” It’s such a busy life and a lot at times but I love it. I adore my family. And I am so lucky that I have an amazing and supportive family to help me. It’s a good job that I have lots of energy.”
