A mom just gave birth to a weighing 14 lbs13 oz baby boy, and the ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ ᴏɴᴇ has already ʙʀᴏᴋᴇɴ ʀᴇᴄᴏʀᴅs at the ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ. Jennifer Medlock said ɴᴏʙᴏᴅʏ expected her ᴄʜᴜʙʙʏ ʙᴜɴᴅʟᴇ of joy named Ali, to be sᴏ ʜᴇᴀᴠʏ. ᴛʜᴇ ᴛᴏᴛ, who weighs ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴏᴠᴇʀ ᴀ sᴛᴏɴᴇ, was born on December 12 at Aʀʟɪɴɢᴛᴏɴ Mᴇᴍᴏʀɪᴀʟ Hᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ in Texas, ⓊⓈ.
While most mothers would be sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ to ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀ such a ʙɪɢ ʙᴀʙʏ, Jennifer and her husband Eric Medlock were anticipating their son to be ǫᴜɪᴛᴇ ʟᴀʀɢᴇ. Tʜᴇɪʀ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀ child, a girl named Annabelle, weighed more than 9 lbs,10 oz when she was born. She said:” It doesn’t matter how ʙɪɢ he is, I’m so blessed to have him.” Jennifer, who has sᴇᴠᴇʀᴇ ᴘᴏʟʏᴄʏsᴛɪᴄ ᴏᴠᴀʀɪᴀɴ sʏɴᴅʀᴏᴍᴇ (ⓅⒸⓄⓈ), sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇᴅ to get ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ the first time around. Annabelle was ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ with the help of Fᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛs after ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀs told her it would be ᴇxᴛʀᴇᴍᴇʟʏ ᴅɪFFɪᴄᴜʟᴛ to have a family. Jennifer and Eric were able to ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ Ali naturally, and she had a very healthy ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ with him. As Jennifer approached her ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ she posted pics of her ʟᴀʀɢᴇ ʙᴀʙʏ ʙᴜᴍᴘ on Facebook.
One friend commented: “Ali is going to be a ʙɪɢ boy” – to which she responded: “He sure is!”. Jennifer’s son was born at ᴅᴏᴜʙʟᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴠᴇʀᴀɢᴇ birth weight. As you can imagine, Ali set ᴀ ʀᴇᴄᴏʀᴅ for the ʜᴇᴀᴠɪᴇsᴛ baby born at Aʀʟɪɴɢᴛᴏɴ Mᴇᴅɪᴄᴀʟ Hᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ ᴀᴄᴄᴏʀᴅɪɴɢ to ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ ʀᴇᴄᴏʀᴅs. And the ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ who ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛᴏᴛ for mum-of-two Jennifer and dad Eric said the newborn is the ʟᴀʀɢᴇsᴛ he had ever seen. Mrs. Medlock had expected her boy to weigh around 10 lbs – around the weight of her two-year-old daughter when she was born. But telling of her sʜᴏᴄᴋ when she was told her son’s ʜᴇFᴛʏ ᴡᴇɪɢʜᴛ, she added: “We did ɴᴏᴛ expect 14 pounds – ɴᴏʙᴏᴅʏ did.” Ali was ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ by C-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ and was initially ᴀᴅᴍɪᴛᴛᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ɪɴᴛᴇɴsɪᴠᴇ ᴄᴀʀᴇ because of ʟᴏᴡ ʙʟᴏᴏᴅ sᴜɢᴀʀ and ᴘʟᴀᴛᴇʟᴇᴛs. But he soon made an Fᴜʟʟ ʀᴇᴄᴏᴠᴇʀʏ and was allowed home on December 19.
Mum and baby are doing well at home in Arlington. He’s sleeping and eating and he’s just a healthy boy.
