In order to alleviate his constipation, a factory worker from southeast China inserted a half-meter-long eel inside his anus. Mr Liu, 49, was transported to the local hospital after complaining of stomach ᴘᴀɪɴs last week.
Doctors were taken aback when they discovered the Asian swamp eel, together with feces and food debris, in his stomach. According to Guangdong Television, Liu went to the hospital stating he had constipation. Doctors diagnosed the guy with intestinal blockage and advised him to remain in the hospital for additional treatment.
Liu declined and resorted to an ancient way of treating constipation by inserting an eel into his anus to try to relieve the obstruction. The eel, however, gave him severe stomach discomfort, and he was transported to Guangzhou Dongren Hospital.
Doctors probed Liu’s abdomen and discovered a hole in the duodenum. They were astonished to discover an eel in his intestines. They extracted the half-meter (1.64 ft) long Asian swamp eel, which weighed around 250g (0.55 lbs) and had a three to five centimeter (1.18 – 1.97 inch) broadhead.
They discovered feces and food debris in this body as well. Dr. Zhao Zhirong, a surgeon at the hospital, told reporters that when the patient was hospitalized, he did not disclose the source of his stomach ᴀɪʟᴍᴇɴᴛ. ‘When we asked Mr Liu when we found the eel in his stomach, he replied the eel got into his anus by accident.’
‘However, following the procedure, he told us that he actually inserted an eel inside his anus himself,’ Dr Zhao explained. He further stated that if he had waited to go to the hospital, the situation would have been considerably worse. Liu told to the doctor that instead of remaining in the hospital, he utilized the eel to ᴀʟʟᴇᴠɪᴀᴛᴇ his ᴀɪʟᴍᴇɴᴛs.
The eel was discovered d.e.a.d after the physicians removed it, however it is unknown whether or not the eel was alive when Liu placed it in. Liu is presently in the hospital recuperating. A month later, another guy from Sichuan Province in south-western China was treated in a similar scenario, except that this time his companions shoved the live eel up his bottom as a joke.
However, the cases did not end there, as a high-profile event known as “Eel-Gate” saw a 20-year-old vlogger known as ‘Qi Qi’ put on a ᴄᴏɴᴅᴏᴍ over an Asian swamp eel and ᴍᴀsᴛᴜʀʙᴀᴛᴇ while live streaming.
During the July live video, the animal became trapped within her, necessitating life-saving surgery. The YouTuber, whose surname is Zhang, and 21 others were ᴅᴇᴛᴀɪɴᴇᴅ as part of a crackdown on p.o.r.n being broadcast on the live-streaming platform ‘Tiger,’ according to China’s National Office Against P.o.r.n.o.graphic and Illegal Publications.
